From the Author -- Mark A. Abell:
I am honored by your interest in my book and I appreciate the opportunity to share my experiences and give something back to the Aggie community. Texas A&M is truly one of the finest institutions of higher learning in the country and I believe offers a tremendous opportunity in life. Having earned a bachelor’s and a master’s degree at Texas A&M, I can personally attest to challenges and academic rigors encountered in Aggieland as well as the rewards of reaching my goals. When you combine the highly competitive academic environment with all the social and extra-curricular demands, it’s easy for students to lose sight of their goals and fall behind. Like many others, I struggled in transitioning from high
school to college and I am not ashamed to admit that my grades
suffered
early on because of it. I took it for granted that success in high
school would translate to immediate success at TAMU. Although
I was able to bounce back ultimately, I would have given anything
to avoid that initial setback. I witnessed the same pattern repeat
itself with other new Aggies over and over again. With this in mind,
I decided to write a comprehensive book to help others avoid the
same pitfalls and immediately get on the fast track to success. Over
the
years, I developed proven study and test taking techniques specifically
for Texas A&M University. I also accumulated countless hints
and tips for gaining an edge on the competition. Aggie Academics
101 is a complete guide and resource of information for students. |
